# Bad Wolves Guitarist Quits Band Over Dolly Parton Cover

**Bad Wolves** guitarist **AJ Rebollo** has left the band, pointing to the planned release of their cover of **Dolly Parton's** "Jolene” as the breaking point. **Rebollo** initially joined **Bad Wolves** as a touring guitarist in 2023 before becoming an official member.

A press release issued August 28 confirmed that the cover will arrive Monday, August 31\. The song had reportedly been in development for some time, with **Parton** expected to contribute vocals before her death.

In a statement, **Rebollo** said he could no longer support decisions being made for the band by their label, also referencing broader concerns with the business behind the group. He described the decision to release the song despite the band's stated opposition as the "final nail in the coffin" that led to his departure.
